I’ve been using MetaMask for a while now and while I find it easy enough to view and manage my Ethereum coins, I’m finding it difficult to view the NFTs that I have purchased. They don’t show up automatically in my MetaMask wallet like my regular tokens do. I want to be able to know how to consistently check on and verify the ownership of my NFTs directly through MetaMask. So, is there a way for me to view and manage them directly from my MetaMask wallet?

Also, if there are certain steps that need to be followed or if there’s an extension or a specific add-on that needs to be installed, could you provide a step-by-step guide on how to do so? If MetaMask does not support this capability, could you recommend an alternative wallet or method that does allow for NFT viewing and managing? Please, no overly technical jargon, a simple explanation will suffice for my comprehension.

To start, it’s important to understand that MetaMask doesn’t currently support direct viewing of NFTs within its interface. This is simply because MetaMask is primarily a wallet designed for Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens as opposed to NFTs. For now, even though you can store NFTs in MetaMask, you won’t be able to view them directly in the wallet interface.

The good news, however, is that there’s an effective workaround you can use to view your NFTs while using MetaMask. You can do this by connecting your MetaMask wallet to a platform like OpenSea, which is a marketplace for NFTs. To do this, you have to go to OpenSea’s website, click on ‘My Collections’ on the top bar, then click on ‘connect your wallet’ button and follow the prompts to connect MetaMask. This link will grant you access to view, manage, buy, sell, or trade your NFTs.

Another solution is using a different wallet that directly supports NFT viewing. Trust Wallet, for instance, has great support for NFTs, and you’ll be able to see your NFTs, manage them, and even buy or sell directly within the wallet interface. Just make sure when using any wallet, you keep your keys and passwords secure, and only use verified platforms to avoid scams or losing your NFTs.
